What is a promise on this site?
A promise is a specific commitment made in public by a person elected to office, in a manifesto, a plan, a speech or a post, that can be checked against evidence. Each one links to the document where it was made. Vague aspirations and statements of values are not tracked.
Key promise · chosen by an editor
Why this one
An editor still picks it even when there are only 31 to pick from, because the choice is about what matters most to the people this office serves rather than about how long the list is.
